EVEHQ splash screen contest
by paran0id on Apr.03, 2008, under english, net, projects

So the owner of EVEHQ decided to run a contest for EVEHQ application (a tool for EVE-Online players that let them manage their chars skill training, assets, generates reports, map routes and a lot more) at the EVE-GFX website.
The process took nearly 1 month, a lot of artists entered the competion and there was a lot of nice works which also deserved the prize (400 million ISK).
In the end, there was only one winner and it was me. Besides the splash screens the owner also wanted the logo i come up with in the splash screens (the one you see at the top of this post).
I made 5 entries/versions of the splash screens which you can check below.
What i’ve been up to…
by paran0id on Mar.24, 2007, under english, life, net, projects
So, finals were over and i started working on some stuff. First I started working on a module for phpBB that would allow a person to run a forum in which the users could register through the EVE IGB (ingame browser) and thus use the information provided by the EVE client to create the account. After that i got way too hooked on doing signatures for the EVE boards (there was a lot of people asking for them and the money (ISK) coming from them was/is needed :P). After that i decided to start working on my personal portfolio for EVE related art work. Made a pretty cool layout, picked some nice colors, made some graphics on PS etc..
Then the 2nd semester in college started. God damn it that screwed me. After 1 week i had a crap load of works to do, projects to start developping and a huge amount of classes to attend to.
So basically i haven’t managed to finish any of the stuff i started. The only thing i’ve made in a somewhat regular basis were the signatures.
I have no idea when i’m going to finish them.. plus i still want to make some stuff for wordpress (one of them being coding the Calendar plugin from scratch) but honestly i don’t know if i’ll have enough time to do this in the near future.

Back in the business

Yep! Summer is pretty much over and so are holidays so i decided to start developping again. Starting next week i’ll be working on the following:
- XML parser + Image Generator for Last.fm recently played tracks (working example here)
- Update L2World Server Status
- Maybe I’ll update the Calendar plugin. If i do so, i’ll probably rewrite it from scratch with much cleaner code and make it XHTML compliant.
- Might even consider developing one or two of the plugins requested @ SourceForge.net/wp-plugins (feel free to go there and post your ideas for plugins ;))
So, expect these updates (and perhaps a few more) in the next weeks!
Are you a Lineage2World player?

Well, if you are one, then this might be usefull to you.
Few days ago some dude made a post @ l2world suggestions forum about making a program that would tell you the current status of all servers.
Since i’m always up to code new stuff, i decided to actually code a small app that does exactly that.
You can download it here: L2WorldStatus.rar (aprox. 44Kb)
Finally… some time.

Heck yea! After 8 days of total madness, 4 finals, lots of college-related things to do and an average of 5 hours of sleep per day and i’m finally done with it. I mean… I still got one last exam friday but it’s one of those i dont really need to worry about so, basically, i’m officially on vacations for the next… 10-15 days.
During this time, i’m going to focus on my Wordpress plugins (specially the Calendar one – which i already started working on and coding a fix for the events javascript and make it compatible with more browsers). I got a few plugins on my todo-list, which can be seen at my sourceforge.net page (@ the plugin & features tracker), that i also want to start developping. But we’ll see about that, i got this feeling that the ‘calendar’ plugin is going to consume most of my time since there’s a lot of features to implement.
Anyway, for those who read this and use my plugins, thanks a lot for the feedback. I’m going to try to implement all the features requested in the next release(s).
